Internet Usenet Newsgroups are places on the Internet where people can contribute to a discussion by leaving a message of interest. There is over 100,000 newsgroups on a massive range of topics and are very similar to forums and are useful for building online communities and bringing people together with similar interests.

You more than likely already have Outlook or Outlook Express installed on your computer which supports reading/writing into newsgroups alongside your emails.
